Block Em! — Privacy Policy

Block Em! is a call-blocking app published by Gig Insanity. Call screening happens on your phone. The app also uses Google Play for subscriptions and update checks, which involve communication with Google.

Calls and contacts

Android supplies information about supported incoming phone calls, such as the phone number and available carrier-verification status. Block Em! compares this information with your settings and rules to allow or reject calls. It does not record or listen to call audio.

If you grant Contacts permission and enable Protect saved contacts, the app looks up incoming numbers in your device contacts so recognized contacts can bypass blocking rules. These lookups happen locally. The app does not upload contacts or blocked-call history to a developer-operated server.

Information stored on your phone

The app stores blocking rules, settings, setup state and subscription-confirmation state in private app storage. Its local blocked-call history contains phone numbers, matched rules and timestamps, with up to 200 entries. You can clear that history in the app. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes local app data. Uninstalling does not cancel your Google Play subscription.

The published version 5.8 excludes blocking settings, setup/recovery state and blocked-call history from Android cloud backup and device transfer. Subscription-confirmation preferences may be included in Android backup. Backup behavior also depends on your Android settings.

Google Play purchases and updates

Google Play Billing processes subscription purchases and renewals. Block Em! receives purchase information, including purchase tokens and subscription status, to check access and acknowledge purchases. The app does not receive your full payment-card details. Google handles payment information under its own terms and privacy policy.

Block Em! uses Google Play's in-app update service. Google documents collection of device metadata, application version, and information about installed modules and asset packs to determine update availability and size. Google states that this update data is encrypted, is not transferred to third parties, and is deleted after a fixed retention period. Google Play runs its own service processes. Permissions, advertising and diagnostics

Contacts access supports contact protection. Android's call-screening role allows call decisions. Network access supports Google Play services. The published app does not request camera, microphone, location or accessibility-service access. It has no ads, advertising SDK, or separate analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Diagnostic messages may be written to Android's local logging system. Google Play and Android may process their own service and diagnostic information under their policies.

Support emails

If you email support, Gig Insanity receives your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send through the email service. We use this information only to answer and resolve support requests. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, contact lists or call logs unless specific information is necessary to explain your issue.

We delete support emails within 12 months after the issue is resolved, unless longer retention is needed for an unresolved dispute or a legal requirement. You may request earlier deletion by emailing gigpulsedeveloper@gmail.com. Records needed for an unresolved dispute or legal requirement may be retained until that need ends.

Your choices

You can pause blocking, edit rules, clear the blocked-call history, revoke Contacts permission in Android settings, or change your call-screening app. Block Em! has no separate app-account registration. Google Play uses its own account for subscriptions. Manage or cancel your subscription through Google Play Subscriptions. Google handles its own service data and privacy controls separately.

Children

Block Em! is intended for adults and is not directed at children. It does not provide a child-account service.

This policy page is hosted by Google's Blogger service. Visiting it is subject to Google's own website and cookie practices; those are separate from the app's local call-screening features.
